mid month update. nothing very much.

brisbane flight was alright coz i don't remember much of it.
shopped and icecreamed there.

pretty alright view from my room.

it was late night shopping day for them.
got back to the hotel around 7plus.
crashed till the next day.

met drey, ying, lu and derru for jazz by the beach on sat.
was suppose to meet at 6 but got called up for icn-sfo.
so went to change money, met derru, stopped at luge.
wanted to bring wine down but got the msg too late.

lu brought yummy chocolate cake to show her love. =)
and franco says i look different. hmm.






got called up for seoul and san francisco.
disrupted my whole series of standbys.
and most importantly,
cgk nightstop.


pretty great set of crew.
finally got a chance to do galley duties.

day one shopping in san francisco with hairi and bino.

couldn't get to sleep much that night.
jetlagged for once.

but got up pretty early next day.
met the rest for breakfast in the hotel.
set off for alcatraz with hairi.

trying to capture the full moon at 9plus am.

all the alcatraz goers.

heading towards the prison island.
coupled with the fog and wad not.
they say that no one has ever escaped out of it alive.

walked down to fishermen's wharf.
godma says must try their crabs and clam chowder.

but so sweet. the meat i mean.

hairi couldn't take seafood so i had to eat it all by myself.
couldn't find space for clam chowder after that.
saving it for next time.

my travel companion for the day.

came back to the city and did more shopping.

back to seoul.

arrived at night.
just after my galley stint.
tired but super satisfied.

decided to go with elaine and sokyee
suppered at namdamun instead of the usual hang out.

the food doesn't look like much but it was great.
very very korean.
just like in the shows.
road side food stalls.
beer.

tasted very good to us.
bought some back on the last day.

bright and early next day again.
visited the korean folk village at suwon with elaine.

thousand and one roof types.

kimchi kimchi kimchi.

plenty of school kids.
as if it were a school outing day.

so cute right.
they were just posing for photos.

there was some shooting going on behind there.

they say korea is the first country of imitations.
we can see why.

so sweet.

me and elaine actually stood there and waited
for them to form this.

didn't really watch the whole show.
seems like this folk village is also a filming site to many shows.

decided not to rush for the fortress visit after all.

went back in the catch their cultural perfomances.
turned out to be really entertaining.

rather old but agile acrobat on rope.

and very young and talented horsemen.

super long train ride down to myeongdong for shopping.
met elle there and headed for dinner at the fame andong jimdak restaurant.
queued for about 20mins i think.
but the food was good.

vermicilli with boneless chicken.
it's like a very chewy version of tunghoon.
they even provided scissors with the utensils.

olive rice and kimchi.

went back to shopping after that.
loadsa masks, steph's skin care.
my nail polish, etcetcetc.
got back to the hotel close to midnight
after a very animated attempt to give directions to the cab driver.

got up bright and early the next day.
used some internet.
one week away from home is no joke as much as i love travelling.

grocery shopping the last day.

last korean meal before coming back.
ginseng chicken and bibimbap.

all in all a very fruitful visit to korea thanks to elaine.
who was also very happy to try all the different food with me
and we wanted to try everything as if we were never coming back =)
