figured i'd better put it down before i start losing the bits and pieces of this beautiful place. the sun, sea, mountains.

touched down to a really cold and windy airport which we could all feel even before we moved towards the front of the aircraft. i felt it from my landing position at my unopened door. dug out my winter overcoat and got vivienne to tie my scarf for me.

lucky for us, there was about 7 of us who were there the first time plus two others on staff travel. decided on the guided tour for day two.

my room didn't have a view as mostly usual. but i've got a well equipped kitchenette. now i know what to bring the next time round.

got some sleep and met the rest at 3 before heading to canal walk. don't know why i kept having the idea that it's summer there tho' cold like when i was in turkey.

and this is what i ended up wearing.

had lunch/dinner at some restaurant which supposedly won some tourism award. food was quite good but not cheap. shopped at the hypermart and got us some chocolates and all. headed back to drop off our stuff then met vivenne at the bar for a beer and ko-ed after that.

got up bright and early on day 2 for the buffet breakfast then met the rest to start of for the tour. can't remember the sequence but we covered quite a couple of places plus the weather was great and not too cold.

lucky us. for the weather the next day was totally foggy. poor people who intended to head up to table mountain that day.

finally. phew.

other places we went to included the state's oldest vineyard. not much of a wine person but got myself a white, port and a muscat. a public penguin area with territorial little buggers. all the walking must have tired me out that i was sleeping on the way back to the hotel. and missed the sunset.

bumped into yan leong at the workstation and we headed out to the grocery store and thai joint for takeaways.

and it was back to work the next day.

that ends my trip to the city with spectacular views. i've a johannesburg next month but they're all saying it's not as safe to head out. perhaps i shall bring my laptop along. we shall see.

and just after i've uploaded the pictures. they're showing capetown on travel and living, the smith's hotels for 2. just like how they were showing amsterdam on chan 8 the time i came back >.<
